It had been a chilly February morning when I sat at my desk in The Record’s newsroom and reviewed my project sheet: contact Michael von Teichman, new proprietor of the Walper Terrace Hotel, one of our region’s most famous companies. Apparently Michael was eager to not merely make his business successful, but additionally utilize his situation as a business proprietor to give aid in a developing nation.
