Permanently Removing Hair – A Review Of IPL And Laser Systems
October 29, 2009 by Stacy42 · 6 Comments
The methods and equipment used in laser hair removalLaser hair removal|Laser hair removal technology} has come a long way in the past few years. Previously, getting rid of hair permanently was limited to treatments offered by professional salons. These sessions, although expensive provided clients with effective and long lasting results using top end, high specification equipment.
Like most things in life, the cost of this equipment has reduced substantially over the years, meaning that the the superb level of results which salon visits provided, have become both accessible and affordable for home use. It is therefore now possible to get the same standard of hair removal equipment for use in the privacy of home.
As the prices drops and standards of products improves, major benefits are being felt by those individuals who enjoy the advantages of laser hair treatment but perhaps feel self conscious about visiting salons to get the treatment done.
The other main advantage is that, whilst the home versions of the laser and IPL hair removal products are expensive (top end models can £300/$450) the comparative cost of multiple salon visits means that having your very own laser hair removal system or IPL system creates significant savings.
It doesn’t have to be that expensive either. Cheap laser hair removal at home can start from around £100/$150. At the top end of the range, the IPL systems (Intense Pulsed Light) offers perhaps the pinnacle of hair removal technology – even better than some salons provide!
The Silkn hair remover is the best home IPL model now on sale and is just one example of the wide range of products now available on the market.

Acne Treatments
October 4, 2009 by Stacy42 · 7 Comments
In many cases acne can lead to scarring of the skin. The scars can be slight or very serious causing psychological problems. Fortunately there are a number of very effective treatments available.
The most common Acne Treatments for acne scarring are:
Surgery
Dermabrasion
Treatment with Drugs
Laser Resurfacing
Surgery – this solution for acne scarring is for patients with serious scarring. A technique called ‘punching’ may be used where an incision is made into the scar down to the level of the skin’s subcutaneous fat. The wound is then repaired either with sutures or with a skin graft. An alternative technique is ‘subcision’ when the scar tissue is raised away from the underlying unscarred tissue.
Dermabrasion – is for treating mild and shallow acne scarring. A local anesthetic is applied before a high speed brush is used to ‘sand’ off the top layer of skin. The Acne Scars gradually disappear or are significantly reduced during the natural healing process. Unfortunately, the procedure is often repeated several times to remove even relatively mild scarring.
Treatment with Drugs – drugs can be applied to the scarred area either by injection or a topical cream. Sometimes other treatments may cause certain forms of scarring such as ‘keloids’ to spread even further so drugs may be the most suitable option.
Laser Resurfacing – the procedure is not dissimilar to dermabrasion because it burns away the top layers of the skin.
Isotretinoin – for Cystic Acne Cystic Acne is a severe type of acne in which cysts are formed by acute inflammation. Isotretinoin is a very effective treatment for severe acne and acne that is resistant to other treatments and medications. Isotretinoin is a type of vitamin A, a synthetic creation, in pill form. It is administered once or twice a day from between 16 to 20 weeks.
There are many possible side effects that may occur while undergoing this therapy. While taking isotretinoin patients are monitored closely by their healthcare provider during a series of appointments.

The amazing strength of sandwich panels
October 1, 2009 by Stacy42 · 3 Comments
Sandwich panels have seen limited use on various applications for the U.S. Even after extensive development work, issues such as uniform design parameters; joining techniques; adherence practices, materials, repair and modification methods; and availability of the honeycomb core panels have kept opportunistic growth in the use of laser-welded metallic sandwich panels for naval and other defense and commercial applications. Sandwich panel flexural stiffness, the tensile and compressive strengths of the facesheets, core shear strength and shear modulus, and even the facesheet-to-core bond can be measured. Yet, the standard acknowledges that ASTM may be a better choice for checking core shear strength and shear modulus.
The sandwich panels comprise of outer or face sheets separated by an inner core connected to their inside surfaces. They possess a high strength-to-weight ratio since they are light in weight and the core is configured to resist bending of the panel under stress.
Sandwich panels are not only self-supporting but can also bear considerable loads. The dimensions and profile of the facings as well as the thickness and density of the polyurethane foam core are important factors. Sandwich boat panel utilizing aluminum honeycomb cores result in lightweight, high strength structures that are very rigid. Aluminum honeycomb panels have the best strength to weight ration of any construction available. Sandwich panel structures based upon highly porous, periodic cellular metal (PCM) structures have attracted significant interest for load supporting structural applications. Cellular metals with open cell topologies are also appealing heat exchange media where dissipation of high intensity heat in relatively small spaces is required.
Ink expenses can be cut down by using interoperable printer cartridges
September 29, 2009 by Stacy42 · 3 Comments
Here is my experience with a particularly good vendor of intermateable ink products. In my office I have been using for several years the ink cartridges and printer accessories of Druckerzubehoer and I am very astonished about this great provider. For everybody who wants to buy interoperable printer cartridges and printer supplies, Druckerzubehoer is a very good address. This printer equipment shop has several million purchasers in Germany and offers in my opinion an excellent price-performance ratio. Honestly, I can hardly understand how a provider of printer cartridges is able to sell their goods as cheaply as they do. I have a Canon Pixma ink printer and save about 90% of the ink costs, because I can buy those printer items and intermateable toner products.
I am very satisfied with the quality of the products. My printer has been working well for several years with those cartridges. Moreover, you do not get black fingers when trying to refill cartridges by yourself. Buying your interoperable printer cartridges from this Internet shop provides the customer some valuable benefits:
You can even get small numbers of printer cartridges and obtain them quickly and at a favorable price. At these opportune rates there is no need to purchase many items at once. Buyers better place orders just in time when you run out of spare ink, having in mind that the ink products carry an expiration date. Druckerzubehoer upon request informs the shopper regularly via e-mail about convenient offers and discounts for printer ink. Sometimes I am surprised that the already very opportune rates temporarily are reduced once more. You can look at a testimonial about this low-priced German provider of compatible printer cartridges on the following site: www.drucker-patrone.info
Druckerzuboer has won several test victories for their interoperable toner cartridges. The firm is for example 16 times winner in the German computer periodical “computerbild” issue 11/2009. There is a wide choice of printer cartridges for all well-known printer brands – such as Epson, Canon, Brother, HP, Lexmark and several others. Consequently everybody may buy the fitting ink for their special printer model. The Internet store is very convenient. The prospect can easily register as a purchaser and place toner product orders. My experiences with Druckerzubehoer are very positive and I will continue getting my printer cartridges from them.
Additionally, I can purchase cleaning cartridges for the various chambers of my printing device from this good provider. In addition to ink cartridges for the printer, the client might also find very favorable articles such as photo paper. The price-performance ratio of Druckerzubehoer is unbeatable in my view. For many years I have been ordering the ink products for my office supplies from this firm and during this period have been saving a great amount of money for expensive original cartridges. In addition to ink products for all popular inkjet printers there can be bought very cheap toner cartridges for laser printers too at this good suppliers Internet shop.
Can a Golf GPS device improve your golf game?
The world of gadgetry is filled with electronic toys that get used once or twice and then find themselves sifting down to the bottom of the kitchen knick-knack drawer. The hype on most of these gadgets is appealing, but rarely do they live up to their promises.
Many golfers are wondering the same thing about GPS golf rangefinders. With a fairly steep entry price, you don’t want to spend money on one unless you are sure it will work.
I did a search for Golf GPS reviews and didn’t come up with too much useful information, so I decided to do a test myself. I got 3 golfing buddies who own GPS units and we headed out to a local course. For each shot, all three of them would use their device to see how it measured shot distance and distance remaining to the pin or middle of the
green. In addition, I carried a laser rangefinder and paced off all distances from the installed yardage markers. My clipboard was filled with a stat sheet to keep track of all the readings and results.
The conclusion I came to was that most of the GPS devices gave readings that were within 2-3 yards of each other. All were quite accurate from the fairway. Further away in the rough was more difficult and the cheaper GPS devices didn’t do as good a job of calculating the distances from these positions.
All the GPS golf rangefinders were within +-3 yards from what the laser rangefinder read, and were within +- 2 yards from the distances I paced off from the yardage markers.
You may conclude that it would be just as good to have a laser finder or just use the yardage markers. That is true, except for the speed. Laser rangefinders take about 30 more seconds per hole, on average to get your yardage than the GPS device, and pacing off took an average of 75 seconds less. That speeds up play by about 1/2 an hour per round just by itself, and that is a very good thing. Plus, if you are off the beaten path a lot, it can be hard to find yardage markers and with the laser rangefinder you are out of luck if you don’t have a visual of the flagstick.
The most impressive aspect, however, is the ability of the GPS device to give very accurate yardages to potential problem areas – bunkers, water hazards, etc. By knowing how far you have to fly the ball to clear the water or sand can be the difference between a par and a double bogey.
If you just want a basic yardage and the ability to see how far you hit shots (this knowledge will help you make better decisions in the future), one of the GPS golf units under $200 are fine. If you want some of the more advanced features or a color display, plan to spend around $400. If you are and avid golfer, it is worth putting on your holiday or birthday wish list.
Some of the most popular brands of GPS devices for golfers are SkyGolf, GolfLogix, Golf Buddy, Garmin and OnPar. Some devices require you to pay an annual subscription to download new courses. Others let you download courses for free. That’s a feature worth looking for. The most popular brand seems to be the SkyGolf SkyCaddie series of GPS
rangefinders. It’s interesting to se a list of all SkyCaddie GPS units to know which features you want or need.
All golf GPS rangefinders and simple to use and most will automatically detect where you are and load the right course (providing you have that course stored on the device). After that, features differ from model to model. Most golfers will use the basic features most. Serious golfers will appreciate the advanced features of the high end models, and
golfers who love to keep stats between rounds will love the models that have those features.
Check out the new golf GPS devices. You will love them and unless you are an absolute beginner, they will help improve your game.
How To Print Laser Labels
May 21, 2009 by Stacy42 · 4 Comments
Printing quality self-adhesive labels on a laser printer is simple. All you need to do is to put them in the paper tray so they will print portrait, put your printer software on the “labels” setting and then print as usual. For better positioning of the print you can use the media bypass slot usually located above the paper tray, this reduces the number of rollers the label sheet passes through and helps to prevent the print from slewing left at the top and right at the bottom of the A4 sheet.
The labels setting on your printer driver software is usually in the “settings” or “properties” section, and these options are on that rather annoying page that pops up every time you print something. Some of the more expensive or modern laser printers have auto sensing, which means they automatically sense the thickness of the media they are loaded with.
You do have to print A4 labels in a portrait direction; this is because, like wood, paper has a grain direction. The grain direction is from the top to the bottom of the sheet rather than side to side. The effect of this is that the paper is more rigid along its length; this means that the labels are better supported on the backing paper and less likely to peel off the backing paper while printing.
Laser printers are not designed to print labels, they are designed to print thinner A4 sheets, so it is always a wise idea to look in the printer manufacturer’s manual to see what they advise for label printing. To enable the printers to print labels well you need to use laser labels made from laser grade paper and cut in a layout that also reduces the chances of separation from the backing during printing. Laser grade paper has a specified smoothness so that the laser toner can attain the resolution you require.
Laser labels also have a specified water content this is essential and helps the toner to key into the paper when it goes through the fuser in your printer. (The fuser is like a heated mangle with the paper passing between two rollers one of which is heated.) If the labels dry out then the laser print will smudge so always keep unused labels in their packaging. Laser labels also have a [particular|certain} type of backing paper which provides enough friction so that the rollers in the printer can move it accurately.
Wonderful, my dental policy finally turned on!
March 15, 2009 by Stacy42 · 9 Comments
Nice one, my new dental policy has just went into effect!
It’s been so long since the last time I was insured that I’ve unfortunately found myself suffering from a little bit of dental pain. That’s all about to change, since that new job I mentioned has an insurance policy that is extremely flexible. Because of that, I’m going to be having my mouth corrected immediately. My coverage is so good, in fact, that now I am seriously considering going beyond the ordinary family dentistry measures and maybe getting some cosmetic dentistry work also. My kids have been pestering me about doing some of those fancy new clear braces or some laser tooth whitening, so I’m seeing what sort of deals we can find on having those done.
The big difficulty, for us, is that first I need to find a reputable dentist in our area. It makes me feel bad saying it, but my family doesn’t even have a regular family dentist that we have a relationship with.We live in Tampa, Florida, so I’ve been on the lookout for a Tampa Bay dentist that has a good reputation and has a a lot of good experience with these particular types of services. It’s difficult to find! There are a lot of things to take into account when you’re hiring a dentist. Like, for example, I’m not sure if I would want to go to a dentist who got the majority of his experience working with families.
As far as the new types dental services go, I’ve just really been toying around with the idea. The newest and most advanced approaches have definitely been making leaps and bounds these last few years or so. I’ve been hearing about them on the radio, how much better they are than the usual dentistry approaches. I’ve been looking around the internet for “dental implants Tampa” and it appears as though the training and equipment they use is just way ahead of what you would have expected to get 20 years ago, so I’m hoping that my family will be able to enjoy such good dentistry now that I have a a job that provides dental insurance like this.
DVD Duplication A Growing Trend
March 11, 2009 by Stacy42 · 8 Comments
Going paperless is the in thing today in many industries. Many companies have opted to go digital in terms of storing important data pertaining to their businesses such as keeping employees files, accounting, billing to issuing copies of reports to management, shareholders and clients. This is one of the reasons why autoloader DVD duplicator has become a popular trend among numerous organizations
DVD duplication is the process of transferring data and audio or what is commonly known as burning from various sources onto a DVD recordable disc. The process is similar with CD duplication.
The main difference between the CD and DVD is in the amount of data they store. While a CD can hold about 650 megabytes of information and about 75 minutes of music, a DVD can store more by as much as 4.7 gigabytes or seven times more than the CDs storage capacity. You may have noticed that a single movie or even multiple movies can be stored in only one DVD but with the CD, a regular length movie usually requires two CDs. As for music, a DVD can store up to eight hours of music on each side.
The DVDs big storage capacity can be attributed to its smaller bumps and closer tracks. Data stored can either be static or dynamic.
Additionally, the Blu-ray disc (BD) is another medium for storing data and notably high-definition video. It uses a red laser and has a greater storage space than the DVD due to its shorter wavelength. Up to 50 gigabytes of information can be stored in a dual layer Blu-ray disc which is six times that of a dual layer DVDs capacity.
The trend
For companies keeping up with the latest technology, gone are the days of distributing paper copies of financial reports and keeping VHS tapes of their special events. These days, corporations make video productions of their presentations and provide DVD copies to clients, business partners and sales staff.
For this reason, both robotic dvd duplicator have become very popular particularly in the corporate world. Apart from the high demand from companies and the affordability of the duplication process, several other factors contribute to this growing trend including the prices of DVD media and equipment which have become very competitive in recent years. These, in turn, enables event videographers to add duplication services to their existing videography business to serve corporations that need a high volume of DVD copies for distribution to management executives, stockholders and clients. Besides DVD, some duplicators also accommodate VHS and CD duplication as well as replication. Some also offer both duplicating services and products for their clients convenience.
CD DVD duplicator can be done in-house if the company has the necessary equipment or outsourced to a third party duplicator. With an in-house duplication, a company has control over the video production. The only downside is that it has to invest in the duplication equipment which could be quite costly.
The future
Many experts in this field believe theres truly a bright future for DVD duplication and videographers. Proof of this is the mushrooming of copy shops despite the stiff competition with photocopiers and printers.
The duplicating equipment should not be a problem as no shortage is expected. Tower duplicators and standalone printers are in sufficient supply. In fact, there are companies, too, that provide complete solutions such as the robotic arms that can do the duplication and printing at the same time of up to 600 discs in an automated manner.
Bifocal History
March 1, 2009 by Stacy42 · 4 Comments
The American man of science, Benjamin Franklin, who endured both nearsightedness as well as presbyopia, devised bifocals in 1784 to obviate having to frequently alternate between 2 pairs of glasses.
Who knew that several centuries later Franklin’s invention would lead to the ideal computer glasses with the development of the occupational bifocal lenses.
The 1st lenses for rectifying astigmia were manufactured by the British astronomer George Airy within 1825.
Across time, the building of spectacle frames also developed. Early on oculars were contrived to be either held in place with hand or by maintaining force on the nose. Girolamo Savonarola advised that oculars could be held in place with a ribbon passed over the subject’s head, this in turn fastened by the weight of a hat.
The contemporary fashion of bifocal reading glasses, supported by temples passing over the ears, was produced in 1727 by the British lens maker Edward Scarlett. These designs were not at once prosperous, however, and assorted styles with attached handles like “scissors-glasses” and lorgnettes stayed fashionable throughout the eighteenth and into the early nineteenth century. The history of bifocal reading glasses is more you might assume, actually.
In the early twentieth century, Moritz von Rohr at Zeiss produced the Zeiss Punktal spherical point-focus lens system which dominated the eyeglass lens field for several years.
Despite the improving fame of contacts and laser restorative eye surgery, spectacles stay quite common, as their engineering has continued to improve. For example, it’s currently possible to buy frames constituted of special memory metal alloys that return to their correct configuration after being bent. Other frames have spring-loaded hinges.
Either of these designs offers distinctly better ability to resist the stresses of day-to-day wear as well as the occasional accident. Contemporary frames are likewise frequently made from substantial, light-weight materials like titanium alloys that weren’t available in earlier times.
