Greartest Baseball Players of All-Time

December 30, 2009 by · 2 Comments

American’s past time might have been surpassed by Football as America’s most watched sporting event, but it still has the greatest history of any sport that we play here in the United States.

The discussions go on and on in bars and at water coolers across America: Who is the best player ever? Is it Babe Ruth or someone more modern like Hank Aaron? Which era are we talking about? Is the greatest player a pitcher? CAN it be a pitcher?

This the one of the most fun things about the grestest game ever. The stats and the richhistory are like no other. The way the game is played have pretty much stayed consistant, so you can find yourself comparing players of now with players from years gone by. The discussions can be neverending.

Here is my list of the greatest baseball players of all-time. we have choosen one player at each position.

First Base – Lou Gerig – Possibly the best hitter of all-time and gets over shadowed by playing with Babe Ruth.

Second Base – Joe Morgan – Great numbers and great glove.

Third Base – Mike Schmidt – Awesome power numbers for the era that he played in and he won a ton of gold gloves.

SS – Rogers Hornsby – He palyed a long time ago, but no other SS has numbers even close.

LF – Hank Aaron – Only Babe Ruth was better hitting for average and power.

CF – Willie Mays – The complete package. Speed, power, average, and defense.

RF – Babe Ruth – Undisputedly the best player ever, especially when you add in his numbers as a pitcher.

Two that need to be mentioned:
Ty Cobb – If he had hit for a little more power, he would easily be there.
Ted Williams – Missed 4 years of playing time during WWII.

Bill E. Sheers builds websites and talks about the Best Gas Mileage Cars. He is also well versed on Cars With Good Gas Mileage and knows a thing or two about Cheap Car Insurance For Young Drivers.

FIFA is a Federation Internationale de Football Association that oversees the worldwide game. This association was first introduced in the year 1904 and its first leader was Robert Guerin. Previously, the European countries were playing under the Federation Internationale de Football Association, but after a couple of years, the non European countries also started participating in football for playing it internationally. Football was introduced in Olympics in London in the year 1908, but the first ever FIFA World Cup Tournament was played in the year 1930. The headquarters of the Federation Internationale de Football Association are located in Zurich, Switzerland.

Effect of First World War on FIFA
During the First World War, most of the national associations quitted the Federation Internationale de Football Association. With the death of Daniel Burley Woolfall, FIFA was expected to disintegrate quickly. However, with the end of wars, the different nations united again and joined hands to make football popular among the youth, but the United Kingdom still denied to link with the world war enemies. Gradually, the national association members started increasing and currently, the Federation Internationale de Football Association integrates 208 members in all. The superlative body of FIFA is the FIFA congress that includes football player agents and other representatives, as well.  Some FIFA members also runs football tours and a football academy for young upcoming players.

Awards and Honors
FIFA is played after every four years and the title of FIFA World Player of the year is granted to the most prominent player. In addition to this, “FIFA World Cup All Time Team” and “FIFA Dream Team” are also announced to give honors to the prestigious players. FIFA also includes an anthem, which was composed by Franz Lambert. This anthem is played at the beginning of the matches like FIFA World Cup, FIFA Women’s World Cup and many others.

Mixed Martial Arts, Pro Football & Golfing

March 19, 2009 by · 4 Comments

Mixed martial arts is growing in popularity ever since rules were implemented for the safety of those in the ring and you can now watch it on television. It captures an audience both young and old since what happens either in the cage or ring is not scripted unlike wrestling. There are two main styles of mixed martial arts. These are sport and street. In sport, two unarmed competitors fight it out using the same or different martial art discipline. Here, you can’t bite, insert fingers to any bodily crevices, attack the groin and eye gouging. In street, you are allowed to use a weapon of your choice but the first is more popular that the other.

Many people find mixed martial arts too aggressive and prefer to spend their time involved in pro football talk and when watching the television – the preference of those people is definitely to watch the ever popular national football league games. There is a great deal of skill that is involved in American football and those who get a head start by playing early when in their college and university days definitely will have the advantage later on in life.

Like American football – the popularity of golf has increased tremendously over the past forty five years with thousands of people looking to improve their golf swing speed, giving us champions like Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman, and Tiger Woods, and world-renowned courses like Pinehurst, Augusta National and the Blue Monster at Doral. Why has golf become so popular? It’s the opportunity to be outside, to get a good whole body workout, network with friends or business colleagues at a leisurely pace, and to play a game that you can never perfect.
