If you are interested in news reviews and I asked you to explain general information found on a normal topic, what would you say? Come on. Tell me. Want me to make a guess? You see general information as news that is latest and is put up for the general public having marketing for people in general keen on books, or, you may think of general news as global news that everybody in the world can relate to. For example, the current oil spill is general news since it affected so many countries, or possibly the past slow-down, since it upset more than half of the lands in the whole world. If you guess that, then you are right with what you consider information and news.
For a much better meaning, general news is a kind of news that is written for the masses. This means, each person can connect with it. As an article writer, it is hard to write common news that is since you must study on subjects that not only people in a particular area can relate to, but people all over the world can relate to. The two mentioned above are clear, since a lot of countries are affected. However, it is not day by day that a bank mismanages its funds, or when an oil leak occurs, threatening about half of the population of the world’s marine living beings.
So, as an author who is tasked to compose general news, you have to think carefully regarding what you are going to write about, and you need to do widespread research first. This is because your readers is the whole world, there is no room for mistake, and if you do one, or write something that is false, then it will surely affect the newspaper that you are writing for.
On the whole, when writing blogs about everything, you have to be cautious of two very simple items, your subject and relation to the entire world. So, whatever happened in Hawaii that isn’t something major isn’t worthy for general news.
