It scraped right off into a bucket and went in the compost. But I have not had that problem since I add air ariators to the ponds. My 125 gal pond has one air stone about 3 inches in diamitor and the 2500 gal pond has 11 running off one large air pump. The added air has kept both my ponds clear all year round since I added them. Check out drsfosterandsmith.com they have excellant pond stuff and stuff for all your critters.
