Greartest Baseball Players of All-Time
December 30, 2009 by Stacy42
American’s past time might have been surpassed by Football as America’s most watched sporting event, but it still has the greatest history of any sport that we play here in the United States.
The discussions go on and on in bars and at water coolers across America: Who is the best player ever? Is it Babe Ruth or someone more modern like Hank Aaron? Which era are we talking about? Is the greatest player a pitcher? CAN it be a pitcher?
This the one of the most fun things about the grestest game ever. The stats and the richhistory are like no other. The way the game is played have pretty much stayed consistant, so you can find yourself comparing players of now with players from years gone by. The discussions can be neverending.
Here is my list of the greatest baseball players of all-time. we have choosen one player at each position.
First Base – Lou Gerig – Possibly the best hitter of all-time and gets over shadowed by playing with Babe Ruth.
Second Base – Joe Morgan – Great numbers and great glove.
Third Base – Mike Schmidt – Awesome power numbers for the era that he played in and he won a ton of gold gloves.
SS – Rogers Hornsby – He palyed a long time ago, but no other SS has numbers even close.
LF – Hank Aaron – Only Babe Ruth was better hitting for average and power.
CF – Willie Mays – The complete package. Speed, power, average, and defense.
RF – Babe Ruth – Undisputedly the best player ever, especially when you add in his numbers as a pitcher.
Two that need to be mentioned:
Ty Cobb – If he had hit for a little more power, he would easily be there.
Ted Williams – Missed 4 years of playing time during WWII.
Bill E. Sheers builds websites and talks about the Best Gas Mileage Cars. He is also well versed on Cars With Good Gas Mileage and knows a thing or two about Cheap Car Insurance For Young Drivers.

I'm at NSSA LF-18 (1 Avionics Loop, Norfolk).
